The Patterson Family Foundation believes in supporting and stimulating rural philanthropy. We understand that local community foundations play a special role in serving their communities. Our goal is to inspire more local donors to participate in rural philanthropy through the vehicle of rural-serving community foundations, and for more donations to flow to local nonprofits as a result.
In partnership with the Kansas Association of Community Foundations (KACF), the Patterson Family Foundation is opening a match grant program for community foundations in rural and micropolitan communities in Kansas and Western Missouri. Funds may be used as match funds for any 2023 match event so that the impact of local donors' gifts can be amplified. Awards of up to $70,000 per qualifying community foundation applicant will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applicant organizations should:
• Be a 501(c)(3) community foundation or an affiliate of a 501(c)(3) community foundation (of any asset size).
• Be located in and serving a county or community within the Patterson Family Foundation's catchment in Kansas or Western Missouri.
Applicant organizations do not need to be members of the Kansas Association of Community Foundations to apply for this opportunity.
• A 1:1 match will be provided with a maximum match of up to $70,000 per community foundation, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
• The match grant from this program will match only the original donor gift. Community foundations may choose to participate in additional matches offered by other organizations, however, this program will not match those additional amounts.
